In 2016 the Petaluma Police Department collaborated with Mentor Me to create a school-wide Restorative Justice program that provided all local public, private and charter campuses with positive alternative discipline action, in lieu of expulsion and/or incarceration.  Students who are identified by PPD School Resource Officers and school staff, are given an opportunity to participate in the Restorative Justice programs as long as they complete the requirements deemed by their contract.  The  Foundation supports these efforts by providing free resources, marketing materials, guest speakers and outreach to the community to make this program successful and accessible to all who might benefit.
