JUNIOR POLICE CAMP

This FREE four-day camp is an opportunity for the youth of Petaluma to learn more about the jobs accomplished by both the civilian and sworn personal of the Petaluma Police Department. Instructors from the Police Department will demonstrate some of the tools used and explain how each job is accomplished while demonstrating and communicating with the kids important life skills such as leadership, teamwork, and a winning attitude.

 

The Junior Officer Police Camp is for grades 3 through 6 who are willing to be a leader, with a winning attitude, a willingness to be a team player and an interest to learn more about the Petaluma Police Department. The kids will also be required to wear the provided Junior Police Camp office t-shirt everyday.

  • K9 Operations

  • CSI/Evidence procedures

  • Investigations

  • Traffic Operations

  • Dispatch/Crime Reporting

  • DARE

  • School Resource Officer

  • Petaluma Police Department Tour/ Certificate of Completion

Space is limited. Parents are required to fill out additional paperwork on the first day at drop-off at camp. Please do not return the form to your teacher. Registrations will be confirmed by mail, email, or phone.

In response to the current needs of our pluralistic society, a group of concerned community members formed the non-profit Petaluma Policing Foundation to help support the proactive community-centered policing philosophy of the Petaluma Police Department. Our goal is to improve the quality of life in Petaluma by providing complimentary public-education programs and safety services to our community.
